Meet Our Veterinary Staff
Dr. William B. Morgan, DVM
Dr. Morgan received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Morgan has been practicing veterinary medicine in the Statesboro and Bulloch County area for more than 25 years and is a founding partner of Statesboro Bulloch Regional Veterinary Hospital.
Within the field of veterinary medicine, Dr. Morgan’s areas of interest include orthopedic surgery, veterinary dermatology, and internal medicine. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Veterinary Medicine Association, the American Veterinary Medicine Association, and the Georgia Costal Conservation Association, where he was a charter member.
Dr. Morgan was raised in Bulloch County and is an alumnus of Southeast Bulloch High School. He and his wife, Amy, have been married for more than 30 years and have three children, Taylor, Emily, and Abigail, as well as a large and diverse family of pets. Dr. Morgan is deeply involved in his community and is a member of the Statesboro First United Methodist Church, the Statesboro Rotary, and the Dayspring Conservation Association. In his spare time, Dr. Morgan enjoys woodworking, gardening, fishing, and eschatology.
Dr. Billy Nessmith, DVM
Dr. Billy Nessmith has practiced veterinary medicine in the Statesboro and Bulloch County area for more than 40 years and is a founding partner of Statesboro Bulloch Regional Veterinary Hospital. Born and raised in Bulloch County, Dr. Billy graduated from Statesboro High School and went on to earn his undergraduate degree for the University of Georgia and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
An active member of the Statesboro community and in his chosen field, Dr. Billy has been a member of the Statesboro Rotary Club for 35 years, a deacon at First Baptist Church, and serves on the Board of Directors for Farmers and Merchants Bank. He has also served as a past president for the Georgia Board of Veterinary Medicine, the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medial Association.
Dr. Nessmith and his wife, Carol, have been married for more than 45 years and have three adult children, Ben, Matt, and Susan; five grandchildren, Katherine, Abby, Paul, Charlotte, and Jamison; and a Labrador retriever named Charlie.
Dr. Ben Nessmith, DVM
Dr. Ben Nessmith is a native son of Statesboro and is honored to be pursuing his profession in a community he loves. A graduate of Statesboro High School, Dr. Nessmith went on to complete his undergraduate studies at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and the University of Georgia. He attended graduate school at Kansas State University and received his Doctorate of Vry Medicine from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University. Dr. Nessmith’s areas of interest include soft tissue surgery, oncology, and herd health.
Dr. Nessmith is a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association and the Georgia Veterinary Medicine Association.
He and his wife, Allyson, have three children, Katherine, Abigail, and Paul, as well as two pets, Molly and Cotton.
